Platinum Jubilee Celebrations for Much Marcle, Rushall, Kynaston & Yatton 

THURSDAY 2nd JUNE 

LIGHTING OF THE BEACON ON MARCLE RIDGE 9.45PM 

Why not start the Jubilee weekend off at one of our locals – The Royal Oak, The Walwyn Arms, The Slip, The Scrumpy House – all offering great food and drink for some early evening refreshment before watching the beacon?

FRIDAY 3rd JUNE

 Volunteers needed to erect bunting meet 3pm @ Memorial Hall

SATURDAY 4th JUNE

Memorial Hall Derby Day – commencing at 3pm

Sumptuous Jubilee Tea (inc Prosecco & Strawberries)

Screening of the Derby with Sweepstake Prizes

Best Turned-Out Hat Competition for Ladies & Gents (prizes generously provided by Tea Club Extra)

The Bartons  – from 5pm (Bring your own picnic chairs, blankets etc)

Fun and games to include welly throwing, skittles, limbo, hoopla, boules, guess the weight, egg and spoon race, lucky dip, coconut shy, horseshoe throwing, tug of war

Dedication of the Jubilee tree by Councillor Sebastian Bowen, Chair of Herefordshire Council

6.30pm Mixed football match 

From 7pm Pig Roast and music

10pm Fireworks

11pm Celebrations end

SUNDAY 5th JUNE

Volunteers needed for clean-up – meet 10am at Memorial Hall

At the Church at 4.30pm there will be a Songs of Praise service with a patriotic theme followed by a glass of Pimms (1950’s style dress welcome!).

The events over the Jubilee weekend are intended to be free for Parishioners.  If you have any family members or friends staying for the weekend and they would like to attend with you as ‘Honorary Marclers’, they will be made very welcome, a small donation from those who live outside the Parish would be much appreciated (donation points will be located on The Bartons and at The Memorial Hall).
